I purchased a 3oz bottle of this from my local store, which lasted a long time by the way. I decided I loved it enough to order the larger value size.
I have experimented with different washes for years, different acne remedies for years, and never quite got 100% perfect skin for my trouble. I’ve spent thousands (no exaggeration) on washes, skincare, treatments, doctors. I’ve tinkered with YT suggestions, DIY potions, all natural, multi-step kits, suggested regimens like 5 or 10 step Korean skincare. I’ve eliminated foods from my diet, attempted to regulate hormones, etc. None of it did much to improve my overall complexion. Recently, I started struggling with blackheads and unflattering texture along my jawline alongside my acne and needed to change it up.
After watching Dr. Dray on YT (great dermatologist out of TX who promotes a less is more approach to skincare), I purged everything that had, especially anything with superfluous fragrance and dyes and went back to basics. Per her suggestion, I had been using the CeraVe hydrating cleansers. I have sensitive skin and while I’m oily in places, I’ve heard hydrating cleansers are ideal overall. The hydrating version did nothing for my oil, the cause of my blackheads. I’m sure it would be fine for someone who has dry skin, but I needed something to cut the oil without over-drying. This foaming version of the same brand’s cleanser breaks down the excess oil without overdrying the face and works well as a second step if you do the two-step oil cleansing method (which I do to remove sunscreen and makeup). It’s fragrance-free, dye-free, pH balanced, loaded with ceramides, etc..you know the drill. All the good, little to no bad as far as I can tell.
Ultimately, I’ve found [for me] I have to wash morning and night. None of this, splashing a little warm water on my face in the morning and you only have to wash once. It is not enough for someone with skin that likes to lean on the oily side. It’s just not. Under or overwashing can both lead to other issues. So, for me 2x is plenty. I use this fantastic foaming cleanser both times, all over my face. As part of my routine, I use The Ordinary’s SA 2% (only on the acne prone areas), brush my teeth to give it time to soak in, then apply their Niacinamide 10%/zinc serum. The combination of this wash, the SA, and Niacinamide has cut my oiliness considerably without drying me out. I don’t feel like an oil slick mid-day. Still, I top it off with a little of the CeraVe regular moisturizer, CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides for Normal to Dry Skin. I don’t need a lot, but everyone needs moisturizer, & then I have a great water-gel sunscreen. I use a 30 to 50spf daily on my face, neck, chest, and ears.
PM – I double-cleanse the spf and makeup off using this wash as my 2nd step after an oil-based remover, and after I’ve gently wiped away the excess balm or oil with a fragrance-free baby wipe or tissue. No point in struggling to remove everything with a wash alone. I don’t expect any single wash to remove my spf and makeup and I’m pretty minimalist. So if you love smearing copious amounts of foundations, powders, etc. on your face, you really should try to remove as much of it with removers or an oil-cleanse before you try to wash it with this. I use this wash, SA 2% (again only on the acne prone areas), the Niacinamide, the CeraVe moisturizer and I’m done.
I’ve been doing this routine for a few weeks now and the blackheads are disappearing, the hyperpigmentation is vastly improving (fading), no new acne has appeared, and the uneven texture along my jawline is almost gone. The only difference in recent months has been swapping out a hydrating wash for this foaming one for my combo, mature, sensitive skin. I can’t say enough good things about it: inexpensive, effective, non-drying, not harsh, etc. I wish I had gone to this sooner, but many of us with serious skin issues are often fooled into thinking we have to pay a fortune and pile on the products in order to get great results. My advice, strip everything to the basics and build from there. I’m so pleased with this wash. I hope they don’t do something stupid like reformulate it for some reason. Best to leave a great thing alone.

Have all the cerave products, love them. Doing all i can to look and feel my best, and i believe these all help. Love the foaming action, it does not take much and feels smooth on your face, leaves it soft, not dry like soaps can. When used together you see and feel the difference.

I absolutely love this product as i have very sensitive skin that is dry on the cheeks and oily on T-zone (inner cheek, forehead and mouth areas). Very light smell, in gel form but once you foam it up the smell is nearly gone! Doesn’t dry out my skin at all! Bottle is easy to store and cute light green and white. I will always use this product!

So when the competitor’s brand went and changed their face wash formula for something more “gentle”, I found out that the new formulation was really not good for my oily complexion. I never felt like it got me clean. The competitor’s old formula did a nice job removing the oils from my face and leaving me with a cleaner face, but That Company had to go and change things.
I found this product first at a local store and tested how well it works on oily faces. It’s a different feeling from the stuff I used to use, but so far it has been equally effective at getting my face clean. Once I knew it would work out, I ordered more of the product here (and in larger containers) to keep when the first bottles empty out.

Had never bought CeraVe products but I started using some this year and they’re wonderful. For several years I’d been using a different company’s foaming cleanser but the CeraVe one seems even more gentle even though it leaves the skin on my face feeling clean but not dry. Since I was so happy with the cleanser, I’ve gotten other CeraVe products and am now a loyal customer.

This cerave face wash was what I was missing from my skin care routine. After a few weeks of use I can feel and see the difference in my skin having a clearer and brighter appearance. It’s liquid to foam formula makes it airy and light but gets the job done for a thorough clean. I can say that after use it does leave my skin somewhat dry but nothing a moisturizer can’t fix. The bottle lasts a long time and you can’t beat the price!

This face wash was recommended by my dermatologist after I was having a really bad type 1 rosacea flare up. My face was in a great deal of pain and I had completely ruined my skin barrier by using expensive Sephora facewash and moisturizers. I thought I was getting better quality with the prices I was paying but I very wrong!
The facewash itself is very gentle but at the same time can remove my sunscreen and the days germs without much effort. I make to sure to lather it really well after applying. Its very gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin but also manages to wash away the excess oils. I also use it after removing my makeup with a cleansing balm and it has no issues removing the balm right away.
I can’t believe something so amazing comes is priced so low compared to other facial products but I won’t be going back to my old products. My preteen also uses this facewash now and it’s gentle but effective enough for their young skin, too. I recommend this product many times over.
Be careful with the pump. My kid has managed to break the pump by pushing down with too much force.

I’ve been using this on my combination skin and it works very good. I used to wash my face with a liquid soap with harsh componenents that would definetly wash of my oily residues, but also dry a Lot My face. So with this product, the hidration in My face has improven and also the oilyness has decreased.

I started using this product couple of months ago. All I can say is Cerave is really good. If you compare to other brands I really like this product. When I started this, I had a issue my acne increased which caused pimples, but after a week of continuous using everything stopped ( I guess this happens with every product as your skin needs some time getting used to it).
It dosent smell and the pump is also very good, the one I had almost worked for a year.
