Wera is on the pricey side but they’ve got some nice stuff and good twists one a few classics, and the Zyklops is one of them. With a couple of extension pieces you could easily have this replace most of your nut drivers as well (there’s a little plastic sleeve for quick running), all if you never work with long threaded rods. Easy to swap rotation, easy and firm to disengage/hold a socket, and the rotatable head was more useful than I expected.

As with the 1/4 in. drive ratchet, this is one of best ratchets I have owned so far. The multi-position head works real well in tight areas. The push button release and direction control are also easy to use. The handle fits my hand well. The only complaint I have about this tool (the reason for the 4 stars), is the handle needs to be longer. I would even buy an additional ratchet if Wera made one with the handle 3-4 in. longer. It is possible that Wera has longer ones out there, but I have not seen them yet. Wera makes great, long lasting tools, but are expensive. I have found that if you look around the web, there are some deals out there. Great tool.

I didn’t want to leave a review too early; 7 months later I must say I love this tool. Worth the big price tag.

Had to have it replaced because the head locked up, but the replacement process was very easy. Otherwise it’s a quality ratchet with cool features.
UPDATE: replacement ratchet did the same thing as the first. Something breaks in the head causing the green direction wheel to free spin, and the square drive end is stuck between directions. Unusable.

I always hated having to switch back and forth between a socket driver and wrench and now I don’t have to. I find this is the only socket wrench o reach for.

Picked up this ratchet because I am constantly using a 6″ extension to rotate nuts down long studs on my car. I usually use a junky ratchet, take off the extension and socket from the ratchet and spin the nut down until it stops and then tighten with the ratchet. With the Wera Zyklops you can avoid all of that by pressing the swivel release and positioning the ratchet head at a 0 degree angle (straight) and spin the ratchet while holding it on the free-spinning shaft. This makes it SO much nicer than basically taking my ratchet apart to spin a nut, just to put it back together. I do wish that the ratchet had more angles you could lock it at other than 90, 15, and 0 degrees. 45 degrees might be nice, or 60 deg, etc. but as it is designed is just fine. It has 72 teeth which is “fine” enough honestly. I am spoiled with some 84 tooth ratchets but the rotation required between the two is so moderate it would be hard to tell which is which without knowing. Only complaint per se is that I wish the ratchet head was not sealed. I like to lube my ratchets because 9 times out of 10 the manufacturer uses junky lubricant or it breaks down over time. It appears as though the Wera Zyklop has a sealed head which, while it makes it unlikely that lube would leak out, means you cannot lubricate the gears with your favorite lube should the ratchet get loud or gritty (which it shouldn’t, but you get the idea).
GREAT ratchet over all – almost feel bad using it for what it is designed for – its nice to look at!

I have the 1/4 drive set with the Zyklop 6 ratchet and it rocks the house. I figured if I was going to buy a 3/8 drive, I will buy quality.
Pivoting head, great action out of the ratchet mechanism and unbeatable quality. Little expensive, but you get what you pay for and I got a great ratchet.

Excellently manufactured hand tools. Better than every I’ve tried so far. Everything has been thought through from the high quality to the portability. I live on the road installing and repairing. I don’t believe I’ll have to buy any other brand. These are up there with my Milwaukee drills and drivers.

I liked it enough to buy one for my brother, and one for a friend.
Comfortable in hand.
So far, no issues. This ratchet has not jammed on tough bolts and it hasn’t slipped any teeth. Seems pretty durable.
Overall I’m impressed.
