Makes a lot of popcorn
Works as described. On off switch is nice. Easy to clean. Kind of a surprise when the corn starts to pop and flies into bowl. Would recommend using less than 1/2 cup of corn until you make sure your bowl is big enough. One strange thing is that by not using oil like in a pan on the stove, the salt does not stick to the corn. Probably need to melt butter for it. But overall, nice machine and good value for price. Would recommend.

GREAT PRODUCT!
I love this popper. It’s small enough to leave out on my kitchen counter and very quick to use. No prep necessary. Just measure amt of kernals you want in the lid/cup, dump them in, and turn on the machine. Don’t forget to have a large bowl waiting, as the popcorn flies out pretty fast. If doing a maximum amount, you may even want to hold a dish towel behind the bowl to catch the popped kernals that have wings. Like with most poppers, you need to be right there to turn it off when popping is done. Great quality & even pretty.

Pops almost all of the kernels…
. Delivered timely and well packed. Looks nice in the corner on my counter, taking up minimal space. Easy to use. Pops almost every kernel, leaving less than 5!!!. Easy to clean with a paper towel. Only gripe…SUPER NOISY! Not sure I’ll continue using it bc of the noise. UGH!

Great Value
Overall, it is a great product! Very easy to use and quick. My only complaint is that it throws seeds and popped corn outside the bowl when if first starts popping. Definitely worth the price, great value.

Love this
When our other popcorn maker suddenly stopped working, I stumbled across this one and decided to try it. Very glad I did. It is less of a mess, smaller then our old one, and works beautifully. Popcorn comes out perfect every time. The only cons * if you try to make less then 1/2 cup of kernels at once, it doesn’t work. There is not enough weight and it just blows them around and right out of the heating chamber. It is definitely louder then we expected, no hiding the fact that popcorn is being made when we turn it on.All in all, we are very happy with it and have recommended this to friends.

Makes good popcorn; quite hard to put the cover on
Update after two months of use: I’m taking off one star because it’s very difficult to put the cover on the popper. It’s held on by 3 minuscule tabs that go into tiny slots. If the cover is out of shape in any way, the 3 tabs won’t line up with the slots. With time, as the cover heats up and cools down, it can change shape. To counteract this, don’t remove the cover until it has cooled. But actually, I had this problem with lining up the tabs from the beginning. Don’t force them—they are very thin and could easily break. Very poor design! Dealbreaker? No, because there’s nothing better at this price.UPDATE after one month of frequent use: This popper always leaves a circle of unpopped kernels about 1.5″ in diameter in the bottom—the exact size of the grill in the bottom. I think this is because when there are no kernels above it, the remaining ones don’t sit on or near the grill long enough to get hot enough to pop. I think this is a flaw but not a deal breaker. Another small design flaw is that the on/off switch is located on the “back” of the popper where you can’t see it. If you’re right handed, you will turn the popper so that the exit chute faces right and the bowl is on your right. This places the on/off button on the back of the popper.ORIGINAL 4-STAR REVIEW: I’ve only used this once and it worked fine. The popcorn came out nice and fluffy, aided by the air vents that allow steam to escape so the popcorn doesn’t get soggy. Compared to my last popper, this one is slower to begin popping. The whole process took about 4 minutes, which is reasonable. I put in one-half of the measuring cup, and about 15 kernels failed to pop. That’s reasonable too. These results—slow start and percentage of unpopped kernels—are consistent with reports by professional reviewers that rank it about #2 in air poppers. The price ($20) is reasonable for this product. I like that it has an on/off switch instead of having to unplug it to turn it off. The question is, how long will it last? My last popper lasted 30 years until I accidentally poured oil in it. The directions state to not let this popper run for more than 5 minutes, a hint that it could overheat.

Its a good air popper for the price.
Not sure why the ask me to rate flavor???? LOL…it pops the corn and the corn has the flavor…go figure. Its easy to use, noisy, but that’s to be expected I guess. It is not good for smaller kernel corn and it throw its out of the popper before it has time to heat.

I LOVE my hor air popcorn popper
I purchased the nice green blue shade one, i love the color!! its not too bright! but not too light! just love it! im a fan of that kind of kischy asthetic,so the color fits me just fine!as for the machine itself! it works great! super easy to set up and clean up and makes A LOT of popcorn! so get a huge bowl. The only negative things i can talk about are that the little area on the top where u melt butter, doesnt really work very well and the amount of butter it can melt is just not enough. but i dont put butter, just salt on my popcorn so its no big deal to me.

Happy with this
I like my little popper. I read a lot of reviews before I bought this and for the most part the reviews were right. I buy the better popcorn. It makes a difference, but I still get more than three or four kernels left in the bottom. Also, the top is a little difficult to put on because of the small hinges and it needs to be concave at the bottom of the spout to catch those crazy flying kernels that first come out so they go in the bowl and not all over your house. All that being said, I love the popcorn that comes out of it. It was definitely a good price and I’m happy with it.

Great corn popper
This popcorn maker does exactly what it needs to do and is great value. In a typical pop using Amish white popcorn I have 6-8 kernels in the bowl and 3-4 in the popper at the end. Every kernel is popped perfectly. My only suggestion is on the design, the front lip around the heating chamber needs a bit more angle because a few kernels escape just before the kernels start popping. I get around this problem by elevating the front of the popper until popped kernels fill the chamber. It is simple to operate, one on/off button. Corn measure provides a full bowl of popcorn.

Easy to Use, Works Well
Needed a new popper for a while and love the light blue color. Works well and heats up fast. Nice to have an on/off switch. Only complaint is the tabs on the clear top are a little tricky to fit into the bottom part. Don’t bother using the top to melt butter – takes too long.

Good hot air popcorn popper
I like the color, although it’s paler than expected. I love that the lid clips onto the air popper. Our old one just sat in a groove and was easily knocked off. This on sets securely. It popped the popcorn kernels nicely. Let’s hope it lasts a few years like our last one.

Goodbye microwave popcorn
My wife read somewhere that microwave popcorn is not for health conscious people. I have had to go without one of my favorite snacks unless we go the old boiling oil bit. Saw a review on this popper in Consumers Report and it really works. No oil, no mess, no greasy pan to clean. It also has a small dish on top where you can melt butter from the hot air. Love it! There’s nothing to clean unless I put butter in that little dish. Best $20 bucks I’ve spent in a long time.

This thing is crazy
I ordered the DASH Hot Air Popcorn Popper Maker with Measuring Cup in white. I only ordered it because it was the best price I could find, however, the negative comments are definitely correct. The positives besides the decent cost is that it’s effortless for prep. You have to be careful when you put the plastic top on, because I could see how easy it would be to break some of the tabs. There is a butter container if you want to melt that which I will not test because the reason I ordered this was for a healthy snack so I don’t want butter. You just plug it in, put in your kernels, and press the power button and wait a few minutes. It does make popcorn fairly quickly, and this thing is quite loud. I used to have an air popper, and I don’t remember that one being very loud. Some of my animals do not like this thing at all. It gets the job done but there are several negatives. This thing is crazy and has a mind of its own. This thing can shoot out alot of unpopped kernels. I have to try and gather them so I can put them back in, but they are hot and burn your fingers. Then some other unpopped kernels will come out as it pops and then a dump of them at the end. Then it seems sometimes this thing just goes completely crazy at the end and starts shooting them all over the kitchen. Then you think it’s done and some more will blow up right in your face. It’s absolute chaos, but it doesn’t happen every time it seems. The animals think it’s fabulous when a bunch of stuff falls on the floor, but I have a dog with allergies so he can’t be out when this thing is on. It’s also hard to find unpopped kernels that fly on the floor. However, because a lot of the good quality ones are so much more expensive, you just get what you pay for and I think it would be unreasonable to expect too much from this unit. I use this everyday and several times a day, and it does get the job done. But if I’m going to keep up this daily habit, I might need a higher quality one because this is too much extra work when I care about the unpopped kernels and grand finale kernel shootout at the end. You’ll have to pick your poison to either pay alot more money for a popper that has more maturity or pay much less and deal with chaos.

Quick, easy, dare I say fun.
Just get one of you like popcorn, it’s a vital health snack maker in our house and I’ve been through everything, pan popping, whirly pop, microwave, etc etc. nothing does it like an air popper and the ease of clean up makes this guy worth it. This makes more popcorn than one would think.

Works Great, No Issues So Far
Great value for a air popper. You may some reviews complaining about unpopped kernels etc., though this has happened to me almost every time I use the machine (only a few kernels), I do not see it as an issue… Its crazy how people would expect this popper to leave 0 unpopped kernels, I feel like that is just not feasible or reasonable to expect even from the most expensive, advanced air poppers. That being said, if you are looking to buy a basic air popper, look no further!

Slightly underpowered compared to the Presto
This DASH popper is powered by a 1400 W electric motor. I compared it to my very old Presto popper with a 1440 W motor. The Presto finished popping in about 90 seconds, while the DASH took 2 minutes. Also, the Presto left only 2-3 kernels unpopped while the DASH left about a dozen unpopped.

Works like a champ!
A bit messy shooting out some kernels like everyone says but that’s a small price to pay for excellent performance, perfectly popped corn and such easy cleanup. I too tilt it back until popped kernels fill the top and keep unpopped from shooting out. Simple enough to do. I’d give it 5 stars but I haven’t used it long enough to know if it will hold up for a good long while. Meantime I’ve never eaten so much popcorn!

Makes a Lot of Popcorn. Makes a huge mess, and is impossible to make a small batch of popcorn
Filling the “well” with kernels yields about 5-6 cups of popcorn. It pops quickly, and gets every kernel. However, the fan is really forceful and blows popped corn all over the place when it’s ejecting. On the second and third try, I tried to make just a little bit of popcorn. It must need the weight of the kernels while it’s heating up because with just a partial scoop of kernels, it shoots the kernels all back out and all over the place, long before they’re popped. As I only want to make a cup or two of popcorn at a time, I returned this. I did like that it has an on/off switch, which was the one thing better about this than the model I ended up with, which only powers on and off with the plug.

Almost perfect
My grandmother got me an air popper for Christmas one year and I have enjoyed using it. I have misplaced it since do I got a new one. Compared to the one before, this one makes more but it doesn’t get all the kernels out. When running near the end, the kernels jump up but fall back into the chamber because there is not enough air blowing outward for the kernel to be pushed all the way. This is only an inconvenience though, but it is a big one. Since my old one blew all the loose unpopped kernels out at the end, it meant it was ready for use fight away (preferably after it cooled down). Now I have to empty it out first before using it. I could tilt it upside down but then have a scalding lid fall on me or the floor, no thanks. If it fell on the floor, I would want to pick it up but since it shares temperatures with the surface of the sun, it is best to leave there.Other than that, it makes about 4qts of popcorn (using a mixing bowl for measuring) in one go. Add in some Tone’s Popcorn Seasoning, some Morton Popcorn salt, and your choice of butter or butter oil. I would suggest only using the top section for regular butter or coconut butter, but even using softened butter, the butter did not melt all the way… Maybe you will have better luck. Regardless, I would suggest it for the price it’s at,, not to mention the convenient power switch. My old one turned on instantly and had no switch.

Super fun for kids but can get messy 😅
The kids (2&4) loved watching the popcorn pop and poor into the bowl. Super easy to use and clean. Great price. I used organic popcorn in this machine and it worked well, there were a few crazy un popped corns that flew out but I expected since the directions warned that this may happen with small corns. Also, Towards the end of the pop some of the popped corns flew out everywhere maybe about ten but no biggy still fun, easy and a good way to avoid toxic ingredients that come in the microwave popcorn bags.

Th popper was easy to assemble. It left a small amount of unpopped kernels flying around. The instructions were easy to follow. You have to turn off the popper manually. At first I thought it would be automatic. Surprisingly, the popper was louder than expected. The price was reasonable so the noise didn’t bother me that much.

A “leading consumer magazine’s” top pick. It works well and cooks in pretty much the same time as microwaved popcorn without all of the potential unhealthy ingredients that may be added to microwave popcorn. The resulting popcorn is pretty bland (no oil/fats), but is pretty easily “doctored” to one’s taste.

Lite & Fluffy
Popper works very well. Lite & fluffy popcorn. I like the need for no oils. Only drawback is once it starts popping, popcorn comes out so fast, it flies all over! Need to figure out a shield of sorts to direct popcorn into bowl. Cleaning is a breeze.

Great for the price
I would recommend this product. It works great and is small enough to store easily. The only thing that worries me about it is the tiny, flimsy plastic hooks that snap in to hold the top piece in place. I was too afraid to break it so I didn’t snap the top in place when I used it. Best Air Popper I’ve Owned
Absolutely has smoked the competition of my other air poppers, the popcorn it produces is light and airy (granted I’m using Orville Popping Corn) needs no oil to pop your corn however I would recommend some as a topping to get the salt to attach after it’s done cooking. The unit itself feels durable and it has an easy on off switch. The Butter melter is the measuring cup for the unit on that note if you melt butter in the cup and directly pour it on your popcorn that won’t work and it’ll make your popcorn soggy. You need to use actual oil or some kind of butter spray after the popcorn is done cooking.

Ah, Memories
Reminds me of my childhood. If you want popcorn that does not include a large quantity of chemicals, this is for you. Does not take long to enjoy freshly popped popcorn. Add the flavors you want. A half cup will suffice, but do not overfill because the air produced from the machine, will blow out the extra kernels into the bowl.Consider this the original air fryer. 😀

Works great, just have a big bowl handy!
I love this. Our silicone microwavable one from pampered chef gave out and so my husband found this. Works great and pops so much popcorn. The butter tray at the top doesn’t melt butter so we do that in a glass measuring cup. Otherwise it’s fine. I’ve only had 1-2 popping instances where not all the kernels popped and I think it’s because I was down to the bottom of the bag and they were getting pretty old. Otherwise it’s wonderful. We are a popcorn family using it 1-2 times a week most weeks.

It takes a several seconds for the kernels to start popping into popcorn at first use.Has a strong plastic smell that I’m not fond of but overall I really like this popcorn maker. I think the smell will decrease with time. It is also a little loud but my house is already loud so I’m ok with it.It is compact, easy to clean, easy to use, you get to customize your popcorn to your preferred taste. There’s a small cup on top to melt your butter as the kernels pop.

Best popcorn maker

This is a review of DASH Hot Air Popcorn Popper Maker with Measuring Cup to Portion Popping Corn Kernels + Melt Butter, 16 Cups – RedPrior to purchasing this popcorn maker I used to use a silicone thing with lid that I’d use in my microwave. It was OK but it was a pain to wash and it would not fit in our new Miele microwave so I had to find an alternative. This was recommended elsewhere and after using it for a few months now I totally agree. This is easy to use, clean-up is a breeze and the popcorn is excellent. Of course, garbage in garbage out so be sure to purchase a good quality popcorn. It takes about 3 minutes to make a large bowl of popcorn. I do not use the plastic measuring cup for melting the butter while the popcorn is popping although you may choose to do so. I melt the butter separately.I really like how easy and quick it is to make delicious popcorn. The price is right too.

Good, inexpensive hot air popper
The plastic top is attached to the body with small, thin plastic tabs. Ours have not broken, but I can see they might not last. Pay attention to the amount of kernels you put in. Too few and the strong hot air flow may blow quite a few out before popping. Too many and you may overflow your bowl with the popped corn – use a large capacity bowl. As you might expect from a hot air popper, the finished popcorn is dry compared to microwave packets. Unless you are dieting, you’ll need to melt a fair amount of butter. But the price was right.

Works great, but very loud
It makes popcorn really well. As long as you follow the instructions and use the measuring scoop, it pops basically every kernel. I like it better than microwave popcorn, but haven’t compared against other methods. It’s easy to use and I only clean the butter melter between uses. The biggest downside is that it’s loud! The heater/fan inside is much louder than a vacuum or space heater. If I’m making popcorn, I can’t hear people or the tv.As with any air-pop machine, what you can make is limited. Pouring butter on top doesn’t distribute as well and you can’t do anything fancy like caramel corn. That’s not an issue with this machine, just the trade off for “healthier” popcorn.

The butter melter takes longer than the corn takes to pop, but it makes good popcorn quickly
I looked up corn poppers in CR, the consumer rating magazine. They recommended this one. I liked that it has an on/off button that some others don’t have. I used the measure to spill half a load of Orville’s best in it and also put some butter in the same measure on the top. It started whirring and before long got to popping. One or two kernels did blow out while I waited, but I held my hand up outside the opening and they just bounced back in where they belonged. The popped corn came out into a bowl (use a big one) and all the kernels but maybe three or four were popped. But the butter had barely started to melt by this point. So I let it run and after about double the time it took to fill the bowl, the butter melted and the four kernels finally did pop. But I’m not sure it was a good idea to let the popper keep generating hot air that long. From now on I’ll forget the butter and use liquid butter substitute instead. And just toss out any kernels that resist popping. It stores on its side in a drawer with the clear plastic lid next to it. I gave it five stars for “flavor” even though I’m not sure how much the popper impacts flavor. But the CR review did say the flavor of what came out of this machine was better than corn from the others they tested, so maybe it does matter. Be sure to use a fresh brand-name corn like Orville R’s. He worked hard to get it right.

So easy
This popcorn maker was less than $20 and it works like a charm! This is the brand that Weight Watchers mentions in their program. It fills a large bowl in only a minute or so and pops most of the kernals. I used Orville Redenbacher plain yellow popcorn.
