I’d hardly call these ‘thermal’. They keep the light out well, and look nice, but aren’t going to add much of a insulation factor – be aware of that. To clear up the sizing questions: Each item you order will come as a set of two drapes. In the open position each drape will hang left and right of your window. The measurement provided for each item (a set of two drapes) is the fully stretched out measurement of 1 of the 2 drapes you’ll receive. So technically a drape package said to measure 42 inches (width, example) would cover 84 inches of window. But that’s full stretched leaving no attractive ‘wave’ to the closed window drapes. IMO they’ll nicely cover a window anywhere from the actual advertised width (42″ if you’re ordering a 42″ drape) to perhaps 1 and 1/2 times the advertised width of the product; in that case up somewhere around 60-70 inches. If you attempt to cover much more than that you’ll be looking at a flat material with no attractive pleating. Make sense? GL and have a great day.

We got these black out curtains for a window for our front door and it has cooled out entry way so much. Very very very little light peaks through (we got the greenish color) and I couldn’t recommend this enough!!!!!

The blackout effect of these curtains is great! It’s hard to find blackout curtains in colors that will match the room and these do both!
