I have been using this product for over a year now.. I’ll admit that despite my lower rating and the issues I’ll explain, I’ll probably continue using the product until i can find a better option. To explain further..

My biggest issue is that the consistency of this product is VERY unpredictable.. I provided a picture of an example.. the two products in the picture are the exact same product.. baked & brighten foundation in color: fair.. the product on the right is the what i was replacing and the product on the left is what i was sent. Again this is the EXACT SAME PRODUCT. You can easily see how much lighter the newer product is on the left. The blend is so different and is mainly the lighter shade in the blend. I purchased these products only a month apart. This inconsistency has happens very often..

..The blend is always inconsistent. This newer shade is too light for me so, this means i had to order ANOTHER in a shade darker to mix the two products to match my skin. That’s expensive, unfair and annoying. I should not have to worry about getting a consistent color. Matching this to your skin is definitely not as easy as they depict. I found matching my skin tone to be really difficult initially and with the inconsistent blend, I continue to have this issue.

In addition, this absolutely DOES settle in deeper wrinkles and lines.. it even settles in fine lines. This is better than some other foundations meant for aging skin but, this hardly helps the issue with lines and wrinkles.. especially if you sweat! I am almost 42 yrs old so my lines are faint. This settles in the one wrinkle i have near my nose/lip area. I constantly have to reblend this area.

This also easily runs and smudges with even mild perspiration.

But, it does give a soft appearance. It helps but does not fully cover redness. It’s easy to apply although it can cake up. It will even out skin tone. It feels fine on although multiple touch ups are required throughout the day.

Overall, i only buy this product when it’s on sale or i have a discount. I have a hard time with paying full price since there are so many issues with it (about $37 full price).

I feel like there are many better products but, it’s very expensive to keep trying to find the perfect foundation for me. I hope to find a better product but will use this until. I guess i recommend it but, if you suspect there is a better option, maybe try that first..

Thank you for reading my review 💜

(This is my husband’s account so this review is written by a woman.) I have very pale skin and usually buy the lightest shade offered. I tried porcelain even though I do not have cool undertones and it’s PERFECT! Since it is a color-correcting foundation it still works for my olive undertone. It does not crease and works for my combination skin. It does NOT feel grainy like mineral foundations. I only buy this on sale. It lasts a long time. I keep the packaging for when I travel. I add 1-2 cotton rounds inside the compact before I put it in the box. It has never broken when I travel. It looks natural and offers light to medium coverage without looking cakey.

I was hesitant to try make up without being able to test it first. However, I did order the foundation as well as kit that has the blush with it.. The foundation is everything as advertised and I love the way it feels on the skin.. I think I have been on how well I look. If used as directed, you can even cover up aging brown spots on the face a product anyone over 60 should try for sure..

I love this makeup! Goes on easily, light to heavy coverage depending on preference. Lasts a long time. Looks very natural.

Just received this product. First time trying the Laura Geller Baked, Balance, N Brighten foundation. My first reaction to this is Meh. Not wowed. It does have some good points though. Below is my list of Pros and Cons.

      Pros
It does balance my skin tone.
Does not settle into fine lines
Is light to medium coverage and does not feel heavy

      Cons
Does not cover red spots from post inflammatory pigmentation – need to use concealer
I did not feel it did anything to “brighten” my complexion. It was more flat than brightened.
Color was a bit too light. I bought Porcelain due to some of the reviews for Fair being too dark.
I had to use some bronzer to give my face a bit more color.

I will use it a few more times just to see if my first impression changes.

First time user and it took me time to get used to this. I do have mature skin and I love that it does not sit in my wrinkles. It takes a couple brushes to get full coverage but goes on easy and looks great once applied. A little costly but worth the Money.

I’m 68 years old and way past fighting with liquid concealer and foundation. Blending it right, then it feeling heavy on my face, seeping into face wrinkles. And never looking natural. My daughter suggested I look into some of the mature woman powder foundations, so I tried Laura Geller first, because of the friendly price tag. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. I watched a couple of You Tube videos to see how best to apply, and, OMG, I was shocked with the results after just the first application. Now it takes me just a few short minutes to feel like I’ve spent a lot of time getting ready: some Baked Balance-n-Brighten foundation and a little bit of eye shadow and mascara, and I’m done! Wonderful product!!

I am an African American dark skin tone (Viola Davis) senior lady. I haven’t worn foundation or powder in a few years. I thought what’s the use. They just settle in the pores of your skin and make you look older. They are also hot and uncomfortable. But all of the raves over this foundation encouraged me to try it. I used Laura Geller’s shade finder and Toffee was recommended. When I received it, I grabbed a foundation brush and eagerly applied it. Ugh! It looked awful and streaky. I then went to YouTube and the model used Geller’s retractable kabuki brush and demonstrated the correct way to apply it. I grabbed my kabuki brush, applied it the way she did, and voila. I went outside in the sunlight and the shade matched my skin tone perfectly. The product did not seep into my pores, and it didn’t streak. I didn’t look like I was wearing any makeup but my skin tone was even and well, not shiny. I’ve had it on for a few hours now. It is 82° and i feel no discomfort at all. I did perspire a little, and the foundation stayed in place.. I also think I look younger. I think I’m ready to put on a little lipstick.

I’m almost 60/F, some wrinkles and a fair amount of discoloration, red spots, and sun damage, esp. on cheeks.

This foundation (baked balance and brighten, color FAIR) is really easy to use. Feels like nothing, even when building. I used only basic, soft, fluffy brushes I had on hand; they worked well for light coverage, but I do think a denser brush option – like a retracting kabuki, as recommended – might work better for building.

Very good coverage on bare skin (moisturizar only), pracrically perfect over an inexpensive primer. Almost all my flaws disappeared, even without concealer.

Did not settle in wrinkles, either. I FEEL PRET-TY, OH-SO PRET-TY!…or, at least, “not bad for an old broad, not at all!”.

I do find that using primer is better over large pores and significant discoloration, such as have I. I used a budget brand with spf 30 and the foundation went on perfectly.

It’s FAST, too. The longest part if the process is waiting for the primer to dry, maybe 1-3 minutes.

Found it difficult to shade match – but to be fair: When is it *not* difficult?

Would be a very nice thing if Laura Geller Beauty offered an inexpensive “sampler” (say, $5.00 for just enough product for 1/2 face in two adjacent shades) to help in this process.

I tried “PORCELAIN” first, but it was just a tad too light. The model wearing “FAIR” looks like an olive tone to me, whereas (I think?) I’m more peachy, like the “LIGHT” model – but I’m super pale…but … but.. hem ..haw..

Seems really wasteful to open, use once and return a full product to try a color that isn’t quite right, as I have. “Samplers” would really help reduce the volume of product returns, not to mention reduce waste and carbon footprints – just sayin’.

Step up,😀Laura Geller. Make the planet as beautiful as you have me!

I have purchased multiple shades (fair, light, porcelain for foundation, and also deep and toffee for contouring). You absolutely must use the Laura Geller primer to get the poreless flawless effect. I have compared and this primer brand really is the best (as well as the best value, which is very special). I tan very easily so I use the foundation colors as needed. These all blend flawless together with very little effort. The angled brush they offer is truly the best applicator and glides and blends best (the round brush they offer puts too much in the middle and applies too heavy). Good luck in your search.
