This is a heavy duty nicely made crimper. It does a very good job making a crimp that should last a very long time without issues. I have a different style crimper that doesn’t do as good a job as this one. It does take a little muscle to squeeze it totally down but I prefer that as the crimp will have no issues! Klein tools have long been the brand to go to for quality.

Crimper is great, but recommend adjusting as it should be easy to fully crimp. See alot of videos where people have to use 2 hands to crimp and that means crimper is set too tight and you’re actually over crimping. Back off setting so you can crimp single handed. Then just double check you can’t pull wire out of the crimped connector and you’ll have a quick, EASY way to crimp. Once set, you’ll crimp faster, easier, and more correctly than any other crimping tool. Wire strippers work great, no trying to find right hole, like on old strippers. Just squeeze and it strips any wire size perfectly. Only knock is if you want to use the depth gauge, it doesn’t seem to want to stay tight. But you can use it without that gauge. If depth gauge stayed tight after tightening it I would have given tool set 5 stars. Crimper is 5 star.

When I was younger, I usually stripped wire using a pocketknife, and usually, that was sufficient for low-voltage, low-amperage electronics projects. (Usually, but not always.) I didn’t realize, back then, that knicking solid conductors or cutting off a few individual strands would sometimes lead to failures that could be catastropic. As for household repairs on 120- or 240-volt AC wiring … well, you can imaging.

This Klein stripper does the job quickly, easily and neatly on wires up to 10AWG stranded, never knicking the conductors. I bought it for Ham Radio power wiring, but it would also be ideal for home and automotive wiring.

Better than expected. I’m a firm believer that everything made today is trash, but these were pretty decent for my needs. I am not a professional.

These things are great. They make such a tight crimp right out of the box plus there is adjustments that can be made to make it even tighter. Very happy.

Klein Tools 80013 Wire Stripper / Ratcheting Crimper Kit. I got this kit primarily for the ratcheting crimper, to replace a cheapest-model-available no-name ratcheting crimper that had worked marginally since I bought it. I figured the Klein would be ‘better,’ but I can’t believe how much better it is, and how much time I wasted on a no-name tool to save $5. The wire stripper is also substantially better than the cheapest-model-available no-name stripper.

I made some crimps with a hand crimper and put much force into the handles. The crimps pulled apart after. I broke out the klein crimpers which were a little more awkward to use but the crimp was solid and secure and would not pull apart. In future I will use these for all my crimps.
