Description
The GEARWRENCH combination wrenches are durable tools for most jobs. They are made from alloy steel with either a full polish or satin finish that resists rust & corrosion. The off-corner loading design on both ends provides a stronger grip on fasteners, reduces fastener rounding, and delivers up to 25% more torque to the fasteners. Sizes are stamped on the beam for quick, easy, & permanent identification. The box end is offset 15° for increased access to fasteners. Available in stubby & long pattern lengths and 6 & 12 point, the GEARWRENCH combination wrenches are a must have for every toolbox.

This beautiful little set would be Nice had Amazon Actually inspected the Set.
I am missing the 6mm , 20mm , 21mm, and 23mm wrenches.
So #Amazon, are you going to send me them ?
Or do I return all 35 pounds to you, at YOUR expense ??

I’m gonna say it. These are better than snap-on IMO. I’ve been a mechanic for 21 years now. These really are the best bang for the buck. Now I’m really rough on tools because I work a lot on agricultural equipment & this have stood up to the abuse. These are made by the apex tool group & if one breaks, just bring it to Home Depot & they will exchange it. I haven’t had any break yet with applying great force with breaker bars & everything else. The package these come in make it great to carry the set with you in a tractor or just keeping tools together. Packaging was very nice, shipping was very fast & just the best wrenches I’ve ever used.

I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of the 44 piece wrench set. I’ve used pretty much every top tier tool brand around and these are just as good. My only problem is figuring out where I’m going to store them.

I got this open box from amz warehouse and it was basically like new. Incredible, nearly compete set of wrenches from small to very large. I love the generous format length of the wrenches. You won’t believe that you’re getting the large sizes like 1.25 1.5 30mm 32mm. These are like $20 ea. The largest (1 1/2in) is nearly 20 in long! These probably aren’t the worlds best quality tools but they are fantastic initial quality and lifetime mfg warranty. Really impressed. Somehow I managed to get all of them arranged in a 19×22 drawer in my workbench-type tool chest. Win!

I’ve purchased this set of wrenches to upgrade the set that I have been using for years, since this new set comes with 27 mm – 32 mm wrenches. The delivery was fast, and the set was intact. Upon close inspection of the wrenches individually, there are evidences of poor quality with workmanship that have been pointed-out by several purchasers, who are professional mechanics that use wrenches daily at this site. Here are the issues:
1) The size was written (not stamped) on one end and on one side of the wrenches, where the lettering was hard to see in 15 mm and smaller wrenches. And, no size stamping on open ends of any wrenches, as described in the adverse descriptions and graphics. This has been pointed out in comments by several purchasers. Amazon needs to enforce the rule of truthfulness in the seller’s advertising descriptions and graphics of the products.
2) On the 15-mm wrench, the lower open-ended jaws was aggressively grounded that it appeared to be shorter than the opposite jaw.
3) On some wrenches, the open ends appeared to be not squared (one side looks wider than the other side). It looked like they were stamped/forged with defected or worn-out molding.
4) On most of the wrenches, the broaching of the box ends were not even with edges, and the under-side bezel of the box ends were grounded too much that reduced the width of the teeth by about 1/4 which reduce the effectiveness of the wrenches and could cause rounding head of tightly rusted fasteners.
5) On some wrenches, shaft edges, burs and blemishes on chrome finish were found.
6) The tolerance of the open ends of most wrenches was respectably from +.03 mm to +.10 mm. However, for the following wrenches, the tolerance was too much: 15 mm (+.22), 23 mm (+.19 mm), 27 mm (+18 mm), and 32 mm (+23 mm) that they could round off the head of the fasteners. I didn’t check the box ends, but I am suspicious that they were probably about the same as commented by some already.
7) The tool roll was not well-designed to keep the wrenches, especially the smaller ones, from falling out. The tying string (or flaps) are not strong enough for a heavy load and are already showed signs of fatigue at the seams. A suggestion: considering adding a flap on top of the existing tool roll to keep the wrenches from falling out like Tekton does. My Tekton tool set of SAE wrenches were tight and secured by the tool roll.
In terms of quality, this set of wrenches is a subpar comparing to other GW tools that I have acquired over the years. I tried to not judge a tool based on the “Made in China” stigma, but this set has just reinforced that notion in my mind. With all these issues, I just wonder if these were factory rejects and are sold as factory outlet items. Anyway, I am going to return it.
05/21/2023 Update:
1) Before returning the set, following Amazon’s advices, I’ve reached out to GW’s customer/warranty service hoping to replace the defected wrenches, but, as of this writing, I haven’t heard from GW.
2) Upon close inspection of the box ends, just about 15 out of 22 in the set had one or more defects.
3) Reduce rating from 3 to 1 due to poor customer service, and such poor quality wrenches.
No more GW tools for me, the quality is so degraded! As the result of this experience, I purchased the 6-32 MM wrench set (no size skip) from Tekton for about $90 more, but with a lot better quality wrenches.
4) And lastly, I don’t recommend this set at all, get the Tekton set instead.
05/22/2023 Update:
Out of curiosity about all the high ratings, I took a close-up look at some of the pictures posted using adobe photo editor to zoom into the details; and, I can clearly see the defects described by me as well as were alerted by other buyers, who are critical about the quality of the product.
06/08/2023 Update:
I received an email from GW Customer Care approving for the replacement wrenches in responding to my request earlier in May. It’s a nice gesture, but for someone who turns wrenches for a living, that is too long of a wait for replacement.
06/21/2023 Update:
Today, I received a set from GW Customer Service. In terms of quality and workmanship, they are as I am accustomed to expecting from GW tools! No finger-marks anywhere, the chrome is bright, deep and smooth in the hands w/o burs and shaft edges. The tolerances of open ends are tight, and the broaching of boxed ends are smooth and centered. This set would partially restore my trust in purchasing GW products in the future.
04/03/2024 Update:The wrenches still hold-up w/o slipping!

Great set of wrenches, I am a tech at a repair shop. I use these when a ratcheting wrench won’t fit. They fit bolt heads right on. They work great, but they are not perfect, one or two wrenches are bent/bowed a bit and some of the size engravings aren’t fully finished but for the price they beat snap on any day! These little things don’t effect the workability of the wrenches at all. They look great in my toolbox as well. My snap on rep picked one up and liked them, he couldn’t belive the price for the full set. would be over 1000 for the same set from snap on.
Update- 1/23/19 Ive been using this set of werenches for the last 2.5 years at work daily without any problems. great for alignments and anytime you need a non ratcheting wrench. Updated from a 4 star to 5 star. like other people said the largest sizes are a little big but as long as you have some room they are great.

I have been using this wrench set for several months now. They have seen a lot of use and I am very happy with them. I received all of the sizes that I was supposed to and they don’t skip any sizes until they get up into the really large wrenches. They do offer the large sizes that are skipped individually for a reasonable price if you find that you need those sizes. I did and I bought all of them. The chrome finish is very nice and the build quality is great. The length is a bit longer than standard length wrenches and I like the extra leverage but I have still used a cheater bar on some of them which they handled with no problems. The ends are a little bulky compared to hogher priced wrenches like Snap=On but lets face it, they are nowhere near the same price. You would only be able to buy the one biggest wrench in this set from Snap=On for the price of all 44 of these. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again if the need arose, I don’t think you will find a better wrench for the price.

Good quality well made wrenches. Good investment.
