I wasn’t expecting much but boy was I surprised by how thick and rich this is. Its so thick that I typically use it as a concealer to start and blend it in all over my face. It doesn’t crease, pill, or rub off. It performs like Estee Lauder foundation but for like 1/5 the price. It lasts forever and I will continue to buy it.

I was super skeptical about this foundation because I am in my 50s and skeptical of ANY foundation. They were always kind of cakey and heavy for my tastes, but I had good skin and could get by without foundation for a couple decades.
BUT my skin is not what it used to be, and I just moved to a new climate and my skin is not adjusting well. I have weird red splotches on my cheeks and chin, but my eyes look sunken because the skin under my eyes is kind of sallow and just not normal. Also, and how fun is this?, my formerly normal skin has become dry and even kind of flaky on my forehead. So with this horror show happening on my face, I thought I would give a foundation a try again. I haven’t bought it, as I mentioned above, in at least twenty years, so I really didn’t know what to look for or what to get. But everywhere I looked, people were raving about Elf, so I popped on Amazon to read some reviews, and I was sold.
I didn’t do the whole looking for the right shade thing since my skin is very fair and not hard to match at all color-wise. I wasn’t so sure about coverage, so I also bought some weird purple thing to quiet the red. Happily, I received the Elf foundation first because I don’t need the purple powder (which seemed weird to me, but I did try it on the weekend, and it really did cover the red weirdness, so yay!).
I only used the tiniest amount and kind of dabbed it on the red parts first, and then I used a foundation brush to blend it up down and around (and dabbed a bit more on my suddenly dry and flaky forehead), and I have to tell you, this is some amazing foundation! I have never seen anything like it; it’s like ten years were just sucked off my face because it not only covers uneven skin tones but does a good job filling fine lines around my eyes and even moisturizing my forehead flakes to the point they disappear. And it lasts! Obviously, I don’t touch my face during the day, but it lasted and didn’t cake or get uneven at all.
I really couldn’t be happier. In fact, I just ordered a slightly darker color to try some contouring! So obviously, I would not only buy this again but am inspired to try more adventurous things to get just the look I want. Where has Elf been all my life? I can’t wait to see if their other products are as fabulous because now I want new eye-shadows and a lipstick!

I have been looking for a new foundation (because my favorite is no longer available) that doesn’t look like I have foundation on my face. I don’t like a matte finish and I don’t like using sponges that need washing. The reviews on this Elf product and the cost ($6.00) pushed me to try it out. I am a senior and have dry skin, so I use an underlay of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and then apply the Elf. My color choice is Bisque. I love that the bottle has a pump which gives me more than enough to spread the foundation over my face. I am not pouring from the bottle or putting my fingers on an open bottle. I have received compliments on my makeup since using ELF and YES, I do tell women that I am using a $6.00 product which they cannot believe! I recommend this foundation.

For someone of my age with little lines and creases, I find this to be excellent, probably the best foundation I’ve ever used and I’ve used many I’ve the years – decades, that is. It doesn’t look over pigmented, and doesn’t show up lines around my mouth and on my forehead. I wasn’t sure of colors, so I have three shades. I use them all. I have fair skin so I tried the Snow and the Pearl, and found the Pearl too light, however it is perfect for illumination with no sheen and no ‘sparkly’ look which, at my almost seventy years I definitely do not need. The Pearl is perfect for this so it’s a ‘happy‘accident’ that way. I have the ‘Beige,’ and I use it and Snow for my base depending on time of day or sometimes anytime, with the Pearl as the illumination. This foundation is smooth, gives me a clean skin look that feels soft. It looks almost like having no makeup on because my skin looks nearly flawless with it on. It stays put, doesn’t change color, and washes off with face cleanser without staining a washcloth like most foundations do. I have these on auto delivery and am adding more of this line to my makeup. Great discovery, wish I’d known about this years ago, and though I don’t use makeup every day it’s still expensive to buy most foundations.

My 73 year old skin has brown spots and wrinkles. I usually wear tinted moisturizer and while it is light weight it doesn’t cover spots well or wrinkles. I had heard good things about E L F and for the price I thought why not. When I first started to put this on I thought it felt like smearing heavy grease on my face but by the time I finished, it felt like I had nothing on my face. It did a great job on covering my brown spots. Some were just very faintly visible. It also did a good job on not sinking into my wrinkles. Sure,some of my deeper ones are still visible but minimized. The pictures I took were after 8 hours of wear in and out of the heat so I look a bit shiney but it does go on matte. I hadn’t used any setting spray. The side picture is my worst side for wrinkles and spots and looks better than any foundation I have used at any price. It also covers my nose pores and redness by the side of my nose. This is also good for the skin. I would have normally ignored this makeup as being for a teenager or young adult because of the price but it is great for older skin too. The reason for 3 stars for sheerness is because it does such a great job of coverage which is what I wanted and needed along with feeling like I was not wearing make up at all. I now have several E L F makeup and skin care products and am happy with all. Great line of products and prices for every skin type and age. Once you get past that feeling of being a heavy makeup when you start to put it on, it is very comfortable to wear.

This is now my go to foundation! Amazing price and it looks great. Gives some coverage without being cakey or looking like you are wearing a lot of make up. Only complaints are that it has a mild floral ish scent (why?) that I wish they would remove and I wish it came in a bigger bottle. They don’t last super long but at least it is cheap so you can stock up.

I’ve always used high end foundation which has a yellow base, and my skin tone never did well with that base but I continued to use it thinking that it was better for my skin. HOWEVER: ELF is fantastic since there is no yellow in the base so it blends so VERY, VERY, VERY well with my skin tone…….covers well and is very light so it looks quite natural.

I bought this in the color Vanilla. I use a wet blending sponge to apply. It goes on smoothly and covers well. It sets nicely with a finishing spray and doesn’t cake or settle in fine lines. It does seem to wear off some by the end of the day though. For the price, I would recommend and will most likely purchase again.
