We had already used these on our own home, and when we decided to rehab a mid century home, we decided to use this fixture as well. It is a really economical fixture, but “reads” as more expensive than it is. It is a nice size in relation to a standard door height. The three we installed at our own home 2 years have had no issues with weather, wear, etc. I will say, as with any fixture, pay attention to your siding – and plan accordingly, as we did need to use shims (& caulk, paint) to have it lay at a perfect 90 degree angle at our own home. (I’ll try to post images later.) It was a 1000% improvement to our builder grade fixture on our own home — and on the “rehab” house, it replaced a tired, painted on/rusty $8 fixture — so this new one really, REALLY made a dramatic improvement. Highly recommend.

Pricier side for porch lights considering its minimalistic/modern design but nevertheless a good product. Replaced old light fixture that had blown ballast with this and paired with bulbs that have a solar cell incorporated (light turn on/off automatically with sunrise/sunset) and simply leave the switch on. Durable product and easy to use. To change bulbs, the bottom is easy to pop off and fits securely with no chance of falling out.

Overall pleased with these. Some of the sockets don’t hang perfectly straight, which becomes more evident when used with a long Edison bulb, but otherwise pleased with the fit, finish and aesthetic.

Saw these at a big box store for double the price. While these look nice at a distance, they are not top quality items. They are good for the price. Would have been mad having paid double at the store. But it literally sits on the outside wall and won’t be touched other than to change the bulb so it it lasts 3-4 years I’ll be happy.

Very nice looking, heavy, not cheap. Look fantastic on either side of our garage door.

I had two garage-side light fixtures that were corroded and generally not in keeping with my style, so I decided to track down a couple fixtures that were more my speed. After a couple days, I found a rectangular, black fixture (available in two sizes) that I thought would work well. The two gables are nowhere near the same size, so I thought I should get the same fixture in two sizes. Before spending $200 on each fixture, I thought I should look for something a little more value oriented… and that’s when I came across the Bowery 1-Light Outdoor Indoor Wall Sconce (Matte Black, Clear Glass Shade,44176).
The first thing I noticed was that the Bowery was about a quarter the price of what I had been looking at. Though there was only one size, it split the difference between the other fixture’s sizes… plus, at 16″ tall, I wasn’t worried about the fixture disappearing on the large gable. Even from the photos, it was clear that the Bowery wasn’t quite as nice as the other fixture, but at 10 feet off the ground, I wasn’t super concerned about the difference. The fixture arrived well packed, damage free, and fully assembled. Build quality seems fine, and about what you’d expect at the price point. The finish quality is good, with no obvious imperfections on mine. I recommend removing the bulb recommendation sticker (from the socket), as it’s kind of unsightly.
Installation is very simple, consisting of installing a flange on your j-box. From there, you level the leveling arm on the flange and tighten a couple screws. Connect your hot and common (presumably with wire nuts, not provided) and ground. Finally, you slide the fixture on to two protruding machine screws, and secure the fixture with rubber washers and finishing nuts. Installation only takes a few minutes.
I decided to pair my fixture with an Edison-style LED bulb. Since the fixture really puts the bulb on display, and because I need as much light as possible, I opted to use 15W (120W equivalent) bulbs that are tall, oak leaf style. T10-type bulbs might have looked even better, but there weren’t any as bright as I wanted. The warm 2700K color temperature suits the overall aesthetic of the fixture, IMO. I’ve included pictures of the fixture, with the bulb. I’ve paired my lights with Z-Wave wall dimmers that are controlled by HomeSeer to add dust-to-dawn functionality (and automation with a house-mounted PIR).
For the price, I really like the fixtures, and am happy with my purchase. That said, I do have one fairly significant gripe. Considering that this an outdoor fixture, I really think it should ship with a neoprene (or similar material) weatherproofing gasket. It’s not the end of the world, and like wire nuts, it’s not like you can’t provide the materials yourself, but it would have been a thoughtful item to include. Recommended

I installed three of these on my home. They replaced the original fixtures that were not as modern. One of the fixtures broke and a replacement was not available, so I got these guys. These sconces arrived well packed. One of them was slightly warped, but very easily corrected. The frame is lightweight metal and easy to flex back into shape. They were installed on brick and siding. I was unhappy with the fir against the siding, so made a baking plate and sealed it to the siding. For my placements, I sealed around the base on three sides with clear silicone. This keeps the water dust and bugs out.
They look good. I used an Edison style LED bulb and they look good on or off. Installation is super simple. The most difficult part may be shutting off the power and removing the old fixtures.

These are beautiful and just what I wanted in design for our new construction home. I did not rate the installation as we are a month away from installing. Good value. Thank you.

I’ve had these for over 2 years and I came back on to look for some for my back porch held up well!
