I love this little device! I had an old rice cooker but it never cooked quinoa as well as the rice. This Green Life unit is amazing in that it has separate buttons for cooking rice, quinoa or oatmeal. So easy to clean, doesn’t take up much shelf space and I love the fun color too. This product so far is a winner.

I made the following review, but I’m updating it. I thought the inside pot was peeling but it turns out it was the leftover uncleared goo from oatmeal! It’s not peeling at all. It was stupid me who didn’t realize it was leftover food,
The only thing I don’t like is that it sometimes bubbles over the top of the steam valve.
Otherwise this little yellow unit is golden.
Super cute, lives on counter, small footprint.
Even has a lovely rice paddle.
Great gift for morning oatmeal or cooked grain people!
Easy to use, makes a daily amount, no need for leftovers.

I read other reviews and ordered anyway.
Used twice, once porridge rice with almond milk—epic failure. Overflowed out of top steam vent all over counter.
Second with brown rice using the one cup measurement (using the cup that came with unit) and filled inside of pot to the matching line. Also overflowed steam vent at top.
Both times the unit overflowed liquid out of top steam vent. It has no side catch like other rice cookers so that’s the only place for it to go.
Worst thing was, used twice in same day and the bottom coating on inside of the “ceramic” cooking pot is already peeling. Both a clear coat, which came up on my fingers when I inspected it. And the black – gray coating on the inside bottom lip where the sides meet the bottom.
Epic failure
Avoid at all costs
It’s cute but does not work and will kill you slowly after you ingest chemical coating.

This little rice cooker is great! It’s both cute and functional!
I recently started watching what I eat and paying more attention to my food, and decided I should get a rice cooker to help introduced more grains into my diet. I bought a cheap one before I got this one, and while I still use it, it was still bigger than I needed and would burn the bottom of the rice too. It also boiled over often, and just annoyed me.
So I started looking into a higher end rice cooker and found they get quite expensive, especially if you want a “Smart” or “Fuzzy logic” version. Of which is really the main feature of higher end rice cookers. Fuzzy logic is just a name for a rice cooker that uses a small computer to help decide whether or not it needs more heat, more time and even adjusts to how much moisture, more so on the expensive versions. (Conveniently this one also has that ability to adjust it’s parameters for better rice!)
Then I found this little guy! And it’s perfect! Small enough I can cook my own portion of rice, and still big enough I can make enough for 2-3 people. All while not boiling over all the time, especially with brown rice. I just made wild rice in it too and it came out perfect. My rice always comes out perfect now.
It’s also very simple to use. Options from White and brown rice, quinoa, and steel cut oats. I’ve tried them all and have good results each time. For wild rice I just used brown rice. You can also adjust the cook time for each individual setting too. I appreciate how fast it cooks too. If your in a rush for brown rice, you can use the white rice setting, and still get good results! More importantly, I have yet to ever have burned rice! It has only lightly toasted to bottom once, but that’s because I left it on warm for a while and is more my fault than it’s.
It is also very easy to clean. The non stick helps a lot, and being ceramic I don’t worry too much. Everything that news cleaning is easy to take apart and put back together again as well.
Overall I am very happy so far! I have some more experimenting to do yet, so I’ll update later!

I love this thing! Almost every night, I make my breakfast ahead of time so I can wake up to a hot breakfast that is ready to go (I tend to wake up, exhausted and I don’t have the energy to make breakfast but I believe eating breakfast is important, especially before caffeine). To make my oats I put in 1/4 cup organic steel cut oats, 2/4 cups of water and a big pinch of salt. Then I set the delay timer for 8-9 hours. It will cook the oats then keep them warm indefinitely. When I wake I add chopped fruit, nuts, seeds, yogurt etc. Depending on what I have on hand, and what I feel like. Occasionally, I will throw in chopped up apples or pears with the oatmeal so that they stew overnight. I also make rice in it regularly. It’s the perfect size for two person household. It takes up such little counter space and is super easy to clean. It’s my favorite kitchen gadget by far, highly recommend!

I love rice but it’s difficult to get nice fluffy rice in a pan on the stovetop. I had been looking for a rice cooker that was small enough to store in my very compact kitchen. This one seemed good. So far I have only made regular white rice but it cooked perfectly, nice and fluffy. It’s pretty, efficient, and has a small footprint on my counter and in the cupboard. So far I’m really happy with it.

I got this rice cooker two years ago when money was tight and so was our living space. It was my first rice cooker and with so many options on the market and some that were very expensive I took a chance on this cute little pink machine. To this day I still say, best $20 I ever spent. I have since purchased a larger rice cooker but it tends to over cook the rice. The best parts about this little guy is the timer. You wouldn’t think this is important until you have had other rice cookers. It displays the time (white rice is 40 min timer) where other more expensive ones surprisedly don’t at all. I have never had under or over cooked rice with this one. It makes enough rice for a hungry two person couple, but could feed a table of 4. My fiance is 6’8 with an appetite to match so I found us running out of rice quickly was my only complaint. Its very user friendly, simple touch controls. it’s compact size makes it great on counter space and storage compared to other, bulkier units. Keeping it clean is a must. I wipe it down after every use and never put the pot in the dishwasher and would advise against doing so. It does scratch pretty easily with metal (if left in the sink with other dishes like knives or forks) but even with a few scratches I’ve never had a problem with stick. It cooks qinoua well, short grain white rice perfectly. Makes enough white rice to make about 8 onigiri, or 6 if your heavy handed on rice. Also makes about 7-8 sushi rolls. I’ve cooked red beans rice, oyakudon, Spanish rice, and congee. If maintained it retains no stains or odors from previous cookings. The top plate removes for easy cleaning which is also something, surprisingly, other bigger and more expensive ones don’t do. It’s keep warm function works great, and if you found yourself going a bit over the rice limit and it’s a bit under cooked, just let it sit on warm for about 10-15 min and you’ll have perfect rice again. I can’t recommend this rice cooker enough. It really stands the use and abuse, I used it almost every single day. It’s built to last and certainly has paid for itself in usage. I bring this with us now on camping trips as a mobile unit, but still use it when I don’t want to cook with the big one. I hope this helps if you are on the fence about an affordable, starter unit. You’ll never want to live without one once you have it!

This is a perfect size rice cooker for one or two people. It is super easy to use and clean, the menu cycles through the preset times for each item listed, rice, beans, steel cut oats., You can adjust settings and cook other grains. Where is says use 1 cup rice, it means use the cup that comes with the cooker. Not a standard measure. Fill the little cup and level it off with a chopstick or utensil.
The measurement should you lose the cup is 2/3 cup standard measure. It comes with everything you need. I love it. It was quick and enjoyable to use.

I’ve had it for three weeks and used it to make white rice, steel oats and pinto beans and so far everything has come out good. I haven’t had any issues like other reviewers have mentioned. The menu button is more touch sensitive than the start button but I don’t find that an issue. As for the amount of time it takes certain foods to cook, the default gives you a certain amount of time and for the most part it cooks at that time. Pinto beans took a little longer so when it was done I added more time to the cooking. Again, I did not find that an issue like other reviews. I haven’t had any steam or water bubble out of the container making a mess and I have a habit of unplugging things when done instead of leaving it on like others have. The instructions are not extremely detailed but it does give you all the info one needs to understand how to use it and what it does. I wasn’t sure whether to purchase it or not due to some reviews but I am glad I did. If for some reason it breaks down later on, I am glad it’s inexpensive so I can purchase another.

I love this rice cooker – it is the perfect size and easy to use; but it has not lasted. I bought it in January – so just about three months ago. I am very careful in my use and cleaning. I only use the plastic “spoon” they provide. I use a dishcloth, and then put it in the dishwasher. But, even with my careful approach, the inside is already chipping and the non-stick is compromised. There doesn’t seem to be any way to order a replacement container. So I am disappointed, to say the least. I really dislike the concept of needing to buy a whole new cooker, just because the container has started to chip.
*Added after working with customer service* I contacted customer service to see if I could purchase a replacement inner container. Instead of answering that question they made me go through the warranty claim process and submit photos. NOTE: I was NOT submitting a warranty claim. I was just trying to find out if I could BUY a replacement container. As I told the agent – I have never worked so hard to try and spend my money on someone’s product. Instead I was told the chipping was “normal” and because of the fact it was a ceramic coating, there was no risk to me or potential heath hazard because as they said:
“Chipping up to 1 to 2 mm is a perfectly normal occurrence because Ceramic coatings are very hard – i.e. in the same way as Porcelain Ceramics are hard but not very flexible. Secondly, unlike with PTFE coatings, Thermolon does not require any chemical adhesive primer to stick to the pan. Thermolon’s adhesion relies solely on roughening the pan’s surface before the coating is applied, which creates a natural lock and key adhesion.
Any imperfections, such as chipping, are considered a reflection of the hardness of Ceramic coatings and not having to rely on chemicals for adhesion. As the product remains perfectly safe for use if it chips, it does not require a replacement. In fact, the hardness of the coating is one of its strengths because it will be less prone to scratching during daily use.
The great thing is that our products do not contain any PTFE or other PFAS, and they are free of Lead and Cadmium.”
I pointed out I was in manufacturing myself and I knew spin when I saw it, and once again asked if I could purchase a replacement container. Only after asking the same question in three emails did the company finally say, no they did not sell replacement parts.
If the company can’t answer a straightforward question or stand behind their products by offering replacement parts, then don’t waste your money with that Company. I wish I had know all this before I bought the product. So, I am writing a long review to help others make a truly informed decision.

Te instructions are easy to follow, it is easy to clean and the size is perfect for 1 or 2 people who, like me, don’t consume a lot of rice.
