It is cute but it is not real ceramic material, it is only ceramic coated!

This GreenLife 6 Cup Rice Cooker Steamer is cute! It cooks rice quickly. It cooks white rice to a nice firm texture. Firm rice is my favorite way to eat rice.
I try to eat low carb so I rarely eat rice. I might toss a handful into a huge a pot of soup as a thickener but that’s about it. My daughter does eat rice and she had mentioned wanting a rice cooker. When I got the chance to try this one I grabbed it with her in mind.
I just made some white rice using this rice cooker. I measured one cup of rice using the included cup. The cup that came with this rice cooker holds 2/3 of an actual cup of rice. I rinsed the rice as directed. I added the rinsed rice to the ceramic bowl of the cooker. I added one cup of water according to the water lines marked inside the bowl.
I put the bowl into the cooker, put the lid on the bowl, and then pressed down on the start button. I left the kitchen and forgot about the rice that was cooking, but, because I had not eaten breakfast, my stomach kept reminding me that I was hungry. After maybe 10-15 minutes I went to check on the rice. I saw that the cook button had popped back up to the top. The rice was done! That was quick!
I went back and read the instructions again. It recommended to let the rice sit 10-15 minutes after the cook button pops back up. I was hungry so I didn’t wait. I took the rice out, added butter, salt, and pepper and ate it immediately. It was firm and it was delicious!
I have seen the question asked about whether or not beans can be cooked in this rice cooker. I would say no not dry beans because there is no way to set a cook time. The cook time seems preset to cooking rice only. Quinoa is similar to rice so it could probably be cooked in this cooker. The instructions do not mention how to cook anything other than rice.
This GreenLife 6 Cup Rice Cooker Steamer is cute. It cooks rice quickly. I rate it five stars.

The description said ceramic but nothing is ceramic. The inside pot is a thin very lightweight aluminum kind of pot coated in non-stick paint. Even if it “stated” PFAS free is can be any other chemical. Very cheaply made. I don’t trust the cheap looking paint and coating. Returning it today. What a waste of time.

And I have them all. Never thought I would get one since I have the stovetop method down to a science. Not sure what compelled me but glad I did! I can walk away and never have to hover again! I made 2 batches back to back following the directions precisely leaving it on warm for 15-20 minutes and both times the bottom of the rice was lightly browned. Will continue to tweak timing but that was reason for four stars.

Love love it, I was worried about getting one that’s not the traditional nonstick coating but trying to make better swaps here and there for current items and this was a great buy, next I’ll be getting the pain set I’m so happy with it

It cooks rice perfectly every time, with an easy-to-use interface and various cooking settings. The non-stick pot is easy to clean. Compact and efficient, it’s a great addition to any kitchen. Highly recommended!

This is a great and easy-to-use rice cooker – it has only one switch to operate. It is especially perfect for those who are not good at making rice (like my husband). Instructions are straightforward, and cleaning up after use takes no time at all. The rice did not stick to the sides of the bowl (it came out nice and fluffy since the instructions said how much water to use for the amount of rice you want to make). I love the wood handles that match the wood top holder. It comes with a paddle and measuring cup. This makes a great housewarming gift.

I cook rice fairly frequently, not only for human food but also for sensitive-stomach dog food, and I’ve always used a saucepan on the stove – this requires constant monitoring to ensure no boil-overs and messy stoves. This rice cooker is a much better idea – put in the rice and water, put the lid on, press the on switch, and walk away.
It really is that simple – there’s a little steam vent in the lid, so the rice stays calm and happy while it cooks, and when the rice is done, the unit automatically goes into “keep warm” mode – this is especially good for dog food prep, as the rice needs to be just a little softer..
The unit is super-lightweight, and very easy to clean. And the dog is very happy to have a new batch of home-made turkey-and-rice for her meals!

This was a lot similar to our current rice maker that I was hoping to trade in for. This is a newer cooker, with that nice nonstick coating on the bowl that has flaked off with my old one. There is only a light and a push down button for cooking rice so as long as you follow the measuring instructions for rice all you have to do is push down the cooking button and you should get perfect rice every time. So no need to worrying about getting the perfect temp or timing down, it is all done for you.
A 2/3cup measuring cup is provided which I do not understand because the instructions is more of a 1/2cup to line ratio so why not just provide a 1/2cup for easier measuring? A Paddle scoop is provided as well and although the title says this takes 6cups of rice, the bowl goes up to 4 cups and the description of the product also says capacity is 4cups. So I do not know where this extra two cups of rice go but supposedly you can make 6 cups? I have not had the need to waste rice and test it out. The max amount I have ever needed to make was 4. I mostly love this for the nonstick bowl that is better than the one I have but other than that it is no different than the cheaper rice maker I already had with less confusing/contradicting instructions or measurements.
