Received item in great condition packaging was perfect. The curtains are great quality for the price. They are soft and smooth and add a great accent to the room. The blackout is crazy they do the job. As someone who used to work overnights I appreciate a good blackout curtain! If you’re on the fence just get em! So glad we did!

I originally purchased blue velvet curtains from a highly rated seller but found that the 96” drop was too short. I needed a a drop of at least 106” but those curtains from the same seller were going to cost DOUBLE what I paid for the 96” panels. Around the same time, I had ALSO purchased another set of velvet curtains for a different room in my house from a second seller with good reviews, but found the quality of those to be completely lacking. I was contemplating just sticking with the 96” blue velvet drop curtains to avoid having to purchase a longer from a third seller and end up with low quality curtains. I searched and searched, and found these curtains, returned the other sets of curtains and decided to take a chance on the quality. I am so happy I did. The measurements are ACCURATE, the color is as described/expected, and the quality is just as good as the first set of panels that were too short and had to be returned. In case anyone is wondering, these are just rod pocket panels, no tabs, which isn’t a surprise but may be important to some buyers to know up front (sometimes these things aren’t clear in the seller descriptions and you just have to roll the dice and find out). I love that these curtains are in fact thicker curtains that block out a good 90% of the light. I’m really happy with my purchase and thankful to find a seller on Amazon whose product is as described, as that’s getting to be the exception these days rather than the rule. One last note: the color is royal blue, however, you can see a portion of my royal blue wall in this photo that is a slightly different level of brightness; they’re BOTH royal blue, but the heaviness/thickness of the fabric makes the curtains appear to be a darker shade of blue because it is less reflective of light. Love them.

I love the material and the color of this fabric. I used them to sew mahjong table covers. LOL

These are the right shade to match a loveseat I bought for my office. These are in fact heavy weighted drapes, they aren’t 💯 black out but they do a great job I would say 90% of keeping light out and the room cool. In the photo it shows the light coming through but that’s not what I see in person; the photo picks up way more than the eye. The fabric is high quality too. I’m going to order the blue ones for my home next!

I was looking for a rich dark cerulean type of blue velvet curtains, most have too much of a red base. Navy can be too dull or dark (almost black). Royal too bright (and red based). So I ordered these curtains, and several others because I needed to match (or harmonize with) some walls that are already deep blue. The room was already a dark room, so painting it light didn’t help. It actually made it more oppressive… the dark blue combined with awesome lighting makes it an oasis! I could not rely on most comments on colour because that varies a LOT (blues touch on both versions of colour blindness). People’s eyes probably vary more than computers!

These came first and were a very nice velvet. AND the right hue! But they weren’t dark enough to contrast with the wall. I didn’t take a photo of when I had a panel up. The room is still in process…

Velvets are really tricky because they both absorb the light AND reflect it. This is a pro and a con. Some other panels arrived and I realized that darker was better, even if it strayed into the red shades (light rich navy, dark royal). It contrasted with the wall better AND both shades were in the bedding (along with some bright reds, oranges etc to brighten it all up). So I laid this panel out on the bed to fold it back up and THEN realized there were defects on it, and due to the colour/fabric (the sheen highlighted the dark marks) and direction (horizontal instead of vertical) they would have shown up once actually hung.

I took photos of the defects for the review but with (oppressive) ceiling fan light. The colour looks horrible! So ignore that, it’s the lighting (and the reddish discolouration must be from the light as well). Those marks are NOT in the texture, with the nap crushed the wrong way. In one photo you can see where I rubbed my fingers against it to verify. They are black “smudges”. It appears that maybe something black was on the machine to fold the curtains, but there is at least one standalone mark as well (I only took out one panel).

Overall… it’s really pretty and I would buy again in a heartbeat – if it was the right darkness for this room.
FYI, make sure to try the curtains in your exact environment/lighting (day and night) before making any final decisions!

I took a comparison photo of several panels in daylight. And lamp light. I almost never opened the curtains I might keep, because they were the worst velvet (in the entryway daylight). In fact, I almost never opened them to try… But I wanted the pom poms for my Mexican Casita vibe. I am glad I tried them IN THE ROOM, because they may be the best after all (there is barely any difference between the two darker blues in the room). But I would never use them in a bright sunny room (at least that colour). The photos I took really illustrate the impact of lighting.

I purchased two sets of the Jet Black, 96″ long curtains for my 90″ wide sliding door. Four panels is perfect for this size to still have the ruffle effect, and allows extra space to extend past the door. I have the curtains extending 9″ on each side of the door, for total coverage of 108″ width. They are a little wrinkled straight out of the package; the weight of them will work the wrinkles out over time, or a quick steam will do the trick. No big deal.

I was originally looking at beautiful, dark metal gray, worn velvet curtains from West Elm, but I couldn’t stomach paying $400 + tax for curtains. I settled on these, and while they aren’t as beautiful they are still very nice, and for 1/4 of the price I can’t complain. My husband likes how soft they are, which was pretty much his only opinion on them so it’s worth mentioning haha.

There is a discrepancy in thickness between the sets; one set filters in more light than the other. (-1 star) I noticed it, my husband didn’t. You can really tell in the pictures though (which show more light than in person). I solved this by putting the thicker ones in the center and thinner ones on the outside (see before and after pics). Works for me. The outside light makes them seem purple in the pictures, but they look black in person so don’t worry about that.

I don’t like that they are advertised as blackout curtains, BECAUSE THEY’RE NOT BLACKOUT CURTAINS! I don’t mind since that’s not what I was looking for, but I don’t approve of misleading advertising. This is more about the seller than the product though, so I’m not including this in my overall rating of the curtains. I would call these “ROOM DARKENING” as they do block out a good amount of light (the attached pictures actually appear brighter than in person), but I think that’s partially due to these being such a dark color.

All four of the panels are the same length from the top of the ruffle to the bottom edge of the curtain. They are 95″, not 96″, which worked for me because I had planned on hemming them an inch but you should be aware. From other reviews it seems like the length can be a gamble.

Overall, they fit my needs and I am happy with this purchase.

The curtains are the perfect color, weight, and thickness. I bought them in gray too!

These curtains are in no way blackout, like the detailed description states, but they are light filtering. The white is in fact a true white without any undertones. The quality is great and they definitely are beautiful velvet curtains.

These curtains are so beautiful. They are thick and soft. They block light perfectly. They really heighten the look of any room. I used them in my baby’s nursery.
