First and foremost, this desk is worth it. The instructions are easy to follow (contrary to other reviews), the product is thought out, assembly methods are simple, and it looks great.
The product overall:
-Nice looks! The desk is darker than pictured, and fits right in with any black furniture.
-Height is great. From other reviews, I thought this would be a bit on the short side. It’s not–in fact, it’s taller than my main desk! My rolling desk chair fits perfectly under it.
-Construction is sturdy in my opinion. I notice absolutely no wobbling between the panels, even when I apply a substantial force to a corner.
-Fairly stable. While it does wobble back and forth more than my other desk, I think this is mostly due to my other desk having more weight on it.
Assembly:
-Directions are good! Nice diagrams.
-Assembly is fast. I’m handy the handy type; it took me 1.25 hours to do it without any help.
-Twist this, screw in that, hammer these tiny nails… very easy assembly methods
I only have three complaints.
-There’s this keyboard cord holder on the keyboard shelf which is supposed to fit in a drilled hole. I don’t intend to use a keyboard nor do I want a hole in my slide-out shelf.
-As others have noted the edges are kind of sharp. That said I would still buy this again having experienced it firsthand–it’s not too bad and there’s no other desks in the quality and price range that have beveled front edges.
-The finish on two of my panels is messed up. It’s not scuffed, but more due to a manufacturing defect I’d say. Looks like I’ll be pulling out the ol’ sharpie for a bit of touch up work.

Design: This desk utilizes its space well. It’s not very wide or tall but has enough space for my networking equipment, a raspberry pi, my full sized tower, keyboard and mouse, and fits my computer chair with arm rests. My monitor is wall mounted so the space the monitor would normally sit on houses my work laptop instead. It also has a little hutch/cupboard thing. I wish it was a drawer but it still works out as decent storage.
Sturdiness: It’s pressboard. It’s sturdy enough for everything I’ve used it for but I wouldn’t put a ton of weight on it. It holds up exactly as well as you would expect pressboard to hold up.
Instructions: This is probably my favorite part. The instructions were extremely clear and thorough. They also had little quips throughout the book. I thought about taking pictures to show off their humor but that’s a lot of work just to show some jokes in an instruction manual. Definitely written by someone who understands English, not a computer translation with typos and improper grammar. It recommends two people put this together. For most of it I was able to do the assembly by myself with my girlfriend handing me pieces. A couple of times I needed her to hold things in place while I screwed it together. Flipping it over definitely needed two people because of the size and awkwardness of flipping a desk over without letting it touch the ground.
Finish: Scratches easily. I put a playing card mat down on the main surface to protect from wear. If you’re concerned about your desk getting scratched up, this may not be the desk for you.

Pros:
Compact
Looks nice
Easy instructions to put together
Serves function as a table well enough
Cons:
Keyboard tray is unreliable. I’ve had it for slightly over a month and it has begun to fall off the rails on me. It has a 15lb weight limit which apparently my hands exceed so it has fallen often while I am in the midst of typing.
Some part of it are difficult to put together which has caused some slight cosmetic damage.
The paint has worn quite a bit where my mouse is after frequent use.
Overall, it serves its purpose as a compact laptop/computer table. However, the unreliability of the keyboard tray is an issue if you are on the heavier side as I am and use the computer often. If that does not really bother you, then this is a great buy for under $60. Do note that frequent use within a month will start to wear some of the paint where your hands may rest often such as the keyboard tray.

Update Nov 2019: I don’t know if some might consider it abnormal or not, but since purchasing this desk I have now moved five times and at this point cannot count how many times I’ve rearranged my space. It has held up through all of that with only the most minor of cosmetic issues (minimal “wear and tear” chipping of the keyboard slide-out, and two little chips where it bumped a metal bed frame). I would not say that I have treated it particularly gently, as someone who does a lot of telecommuting and gaming I spend a fair bit of time at the desk every day of the week… and it is still holding together as if it’s barely a year old. If I could give it an extra star I would.
Update: I purchased this desk Aug 2012. Since then, I have moved three times and I’ve rearranged my space at least five times. The desk has held up to all of it with only the most minor of cosmetic damage (lesson learned: I should ask for help while moving furniture around). I cannot stress enough how happy I am with this piece, both for fitting the sometimes cramped spaces I’ve been in as well as for holding up so much better than I ever expected. When I’ve had similar desks (long in the past) they did not hold up well at all – heck, I’ve had much larger (and significantly more expensive) desks that fell apart after only one move. Sauder really did an excellent job with this one. Totally recommended!!
I’ve been looking for a small computer desk that puts my tower to my right and above the floor (but NOT behind a darn door!) for ages. This fits the bill PERFECTLY. It’s a lovely dark color that matches (or almost matches) most other dark furniture and a really excellent buy for the price. As other buyers have said, it’s not difficult to put together but does require two sets of hands. The keyboard drawer is very close to the underside of the desk, so it does require pulling it out to be able to type comfortably, but it still gets a 5-star rating because it’s held up well to two large moves and several room rearrangements without issue. I would definitely recommend it if any of my friends were looking for a small desk.

I am so happy with this new desk! I had a “corner model” desk before and filled in the triangular gaps on the wall with corner shelves, one of which had the plastic connector disks melt under the computer tower’s fan. This desk puts my tower over to one side, totally out of the way (not under the feet anymore, and me stooping painfully to get to my CD-disc player/burner. Now I can turn the computer on/off and not even stoop over, it’s right at the top right corner almost desktop level! The side raised shelf gets the less important stuff out the way (reference materials, the desk lamp and such) and leaves my main desk free to hold the cable box which tucks into the underside of the flare of the top shelf mostly) and I have the entire frontmost area totally clear to hold the work I’m doing or a cola I’m drinking. In other words, it does all I need it to do with everything in its place!
Two minor points (not worth docking the maker a star for) I should mention. First, the finish is beautiful, but any fingerprint on it shows up like gangbusters. A computer desk suffers a lot of finger touches, and the beautiful finish is now a somewhat mottled mess of repeated fingerprints and diminished shine. The prints clean up no problem, mind you, but it’s going to be a constant cleaning chore, or live with the mottling. The other is the small box-like door-ed compartment below the tower. I said there’s a place for everything and I guess you can stick copy paper or something there, but I find I’m not using it. I have a small console next to it that holds the printer on top and underneath are shelves behind doors that hold all my paper and such. So I’m fine, but it’s an unusable area for me, again, I have trouble stooping down that much. A drawer the same size down there would be another story! I said these two items were minor and don’t detract from my love of this desk. It looks marvelous in my living room and blends right into my other cherry-wood themed furniture. My last desk was a gift and I loved it for that reason, but the pale brown color of it was a sore thumb in my color-coordinated home, no such problem with this dark-toned gem!
As I was saying, this desk holds all you need at a computer work desk, and gives you ample space to sit at it and write checks or lay out the work you’re going to be doing. All in an economical and nicely styled design that fits in just about anywhere.

This product is, I think, exceptional for its price tag. The sizing of the writing space, pull out tray, and storage spots, are all perfect for my needs and the desk does not take up too much space in the room. The pull out tray may be a little small for some people, in that it does not go back too far, but it is fully sufficient for my needs, and I am sure it will be fine for most people as well.
The desk is sturdy in design, material, and construction, at least so far. I expect that the wood will hold up well to weight through my use of it. Additionally, the design of the desk is attractive, yet simple. No material is wasted on useless features.
It was also fairly easy to construct and all of the screw/port holes were perfectly placed. Further, I was able to put it together myself (as a person with little experience and a relatively negligible wingspan). Still, there were times in the process where having an extra pair of hands would have made things quicker and less mistake-prone, so you may want to consider constructing this at a time when you have another person around for such steps.
Overall, I am very happy that I chose this desk!

I recently had my computer packed away for a little over a year as I moved to a small APT, and never got around to getting a desk, and the one I had in the place prior was old, and didn’t feel like moving it when it was already assembled, This desk was in the exact price range I usually spend on a desk for myself, and the reviews looked good so I pulled the trigger on it. I needed a desk on the smaller side for the area of which it needed to go.
The desk was ordered on a Wednesday, and received Monday. From the looks of the box size I knew this desk would be perfect. It was also secured in the box VERY well. I was amazed on how nice it was boxed up. The desk box was like reinforced with harder cardboard on the corners and then wrapped tight in plastic. I was very pleased with the security of the box.
I took my time with the desk putting it together by myself which took me about 2 hours. The instructions were very easy to follow, and well written. However, I did notice the desk comes with a magnetic catcher thing for the plate you can install on the little door but the instructions did not mention the magnet and where it went but I figured it out within a few seconds. Just takes a little common sense, and patience. After the desk was put together I wiped it down with some orange scented Pledge, and she looked beautiful. This desk is PERFECT for my computer. The case fits perfectly in the provided spot, and I put my 24″ monitor on the raised area of the desk.
I also took this the time to gut my whole case, clean my fans, air dust everything out. I applied new thermal paste to my CPU, and took apart, cleaned my video card, and applied some new thermal paste to that as well. My computer needed it, and is now running nice and cool, and perfectly.
I definitely recommend this desk if you need a small desk. It’s perfect for what I need it for. The little compartment is nice too as I keep my blank media in there along with a small safe. Great little desk for the money. You can’t go wrong!

Have three of these desks. They hold up very well and are great for a desktop computer and a single monitor. One has been in use for 8 years, the other 4. Unfortunately there’s not enough room with the printer stand (or whatever you call the raised shelf) for dual monitors of decent size. Was able to use the parts and some angle brackets I had to make it into a longer flat top desk so it still worked out well in the end.

This computer desk is small and spacious, and goes well in my studio apartment by my bed side. I could fit everything I what on this computer desk. Also makes my space looks lovely.

First off, the instructions were very well written. All the parts were labeled and the screws/nails/etc were all in separate pockets in a plastic sheet. Assembling it took 20 minutes tops, and I was alone. It does require both a flathead and Phillips screwdriver, along with a hammer.
It’s laminate on particle board, so there is a limit to sturdiness. But for what it is, it’s very solid.
Great for an apartment: huge space saver in my room! And it looks nice.
