Our Honda Element need a backup camera system and this well review product offered features we were looking for. The installation guide and videos were clearly written, COMPLETE, and made the installation quite simple. I tested the system (as recommended) before tucking in any wires and I was thrilled with the crisp clear display of the rear camera’s image. I appreciate that it can be installed in two different ways: using a 12V plug OR by tapping into the back up light power. Special taps are included to make either choice simple. WOW! The camera mounted easily using license plate bolts, is adjustable, and at night, has bright LED lights that illuninated the area in back of our vehicle nicely.
The display is mounted via a high quality suction mount with angle adjustment. Adjustments can be made to the yellow, green, and red guidance lines that help you back up and judge distances from objects. The display is the perfect size- easy to see, yet not too big and not at all bulky. After a week long trip to National parks, campgrounds, and other congested areas, this back up camera system performed better than expected. I recommend this product without any reservation.
I also cannot say enough for the clear and quick communication from this company! They asked how the product was performing and now have followed up after a period of use. GREAT comms team!

Let me preface this by pointing out that Amazon sometimes aggregates reviews of similar products. Be sure which product’s review you are reading about. I actually tried two items as I received the wrong one based on a review which was on the product’s page but was for a different model of the product.
The focus of the first part of my review is for a single-camera system which is the “LeeKooLuu Backup Camera and Monitor Kit HD 720P Easy Installation for Cars,Trucks,Pickups Waterproof Night Vision…” kit. This kit is well made and well packaged. I bench tested it first and was surprised to see that the connector for the camera was not the typical RCA plug but a very streamlined connector that (when unplugged) is ridiculously easy to feed through whatever car parts are in the way.
The picture from the camera (and the monitor) are great. Way beyond expectations. And there’s a single wire to cut if you decide to use the camera for a front-mount view. Guidelines are adjusted at the monitor by using one of the buttons on the back of it to go into programming mode. There is a set of LEDs and a sensor so that they know when to turn on or off when the camera is engaged. The head/monitor comes with a nice setup allowing easy installation–especially if you choose to use the magnetic plate on the back of the head. Then it’s just a matter of setting the mount as you like it and you can click the head on and off with ease. Five stars for the single-camera, monitor and mounting system.
Customer service was excellent. My intent was to order a two-camera unit but I received the single camera unit instead. (Because of the aggregated reviews.) When I contacted the vendor (by email) and explained the situation, and why I ordered the model I got, they were incredibly accommodating and shipped me a two-camera unit and all parts by expedited delivery. Seven stars (!) for customer service.
The two-camera unit performs as well as my reviewed single-camera unit. Unfortunately, having had the single camera, I feel compelled to compare the two. While the two-camera unit works fine, it uses RCA plugs for the video and a similar-sized connector for power. Don’t get me wrong, they’re fine, but they aren’t as slick, or compact as that in the single-camera system. In addition, programming for the dual-camera unit is done with a button that is on the camera lead, near the camera itself. This means it will be out in the elements (granted, you may rout it inside the vehicle, mine will not be). Same with the connectors. I expect I will tape and/or heat shrink these items to make them less visible and more watertight.
That said, the picture is more than adequate for the purposes although (objectively) the single-camera picture looks a bit sharper. The provided LEDs are about the same between the two and should give adequate illumination to aid in backing. Overall, a really good product.
Unfortunately, the mount for the monitor for the dual-camera unit is not as nice as the one for the single camera. Don’t get me wrong: It will work just fine, but the single camera mount has more adjustment and a magnetic latch. The two-camera unit does not have the magnetic connection, just a couple clips to hold it in place. Four-and-a-half stars for the two-camera unit and only because I had the chance to use the better-designed single camera unit beforehand.
You can’t go wrong with either unit. Both deliver a great quality picture and are easy to hook up. The units I received even had the option of powering via an (included) “cigarette lighter” plug with its own on-off button instead of wiring them into the vehicle’s electronics.
Finally I should mention one error: The manufacturer’s instructions for the two-camera unit has an error in that it shows two yellow RCA connectors on the head/monitor for the two cameras. Actually one of the connectors is white and this is the camera that will take precedence when it receives power. (That is to say that one camera is always on and on the monitor–if powered–but the other one will take over the monitor when a signal comes in from that camera. And you control that by providing power–usually from the reverse lights–to that camera.)

Hard to believe you get such good quality for less than $40. Easy to install, with helpful YouTube step-by-step instructions links. The only thing that is a tad hard to follow in the video instructions is the “Menu” section: They refer to hitting the menu button so that various letters will appear (H, V, W) to indicate what adjustment mode you are in. These letters appear in red in the upper left hand corner of the screen — not that easy to see unless you know that’s where they are going to appear. Just mentioning this fact in the video would be helpful. The included written instructions aren’t bad, but I found them a little awkward — mostly due to cultural/language issues I think. All in all, can’t believe you can do much better than this device for an easy to install DIY back-up camera.

I just installed this today on my 2006 Honda Civic for my daughters. We already are using the outlet for other chargers and I wanted it to turn on automatically anyway, so I did the version that taps into the reverse light. It was a bit of a pain, but that’s not the fault of this kit at all, this has everything you need to make it work and I don’t think there’s any easier method.
I tend to work slow, especially when I’m not sure what I’m doing. it took me about three hours to complete, start to finish. I was able to run the cable under the siding all along the bottom outside. I was able to find a gap 2/3rds of the way up the rear seats and poke the cable through it into the trunk (my seats don’t recline to expose the trunk). Removing the siding was a bit of a pain in the trunk, luckily this civic _mostly_ had clips that I could re-use, and I had a kit from previous similar repairs that had some replacements.
I opted to solder on the wire to the reverse light near the bulb, just because I have a soldering iron and can solder and worried about the T tap not working. I didn’t try it though, I’m sure they’re fine. Unfortunately, the light is not on the part of the trunk that goes up that holds the license plate. But this kit helped with that as it had AMPLE length on the cables to run to and from that light and around the trunk and up to the license plate. I chickened out a little and just drilled a hole behind the license plate and used a hot glue gun to hopefully waterproof the hole. If that doesn’t work I’ll add some silicone.
The ugliest part is the cable right out of the display unit, I just ran it along the dash to the door. Maybe there’s a cleaner way of doing it, but it’s an old beater car and it works. Time will tell if the stickiness is sufficient, but if not I’m sure there are some aftermarket things I can do that are more semi-permanent.
Calibration worked fine, just keep in mind that you need to press the plus buttons quickly after the menu buttons as it resets quickly.
But overall it worked great! I love it turns on in reverse without having to do anything or plug it in.

Great camera system at a really good price. Good color and visibility and easy to use. Has various control options such as initiating off power feed to back up lights or from on off, illuminated push button. As my truck sits high & has tool boxes it makes seeing behind vehicle difficult. The camera has solved that issue as can see small vehicles, etc. I typically have my camera on all the time as it’s a great assist to seeing small vehicles close behind and shows them as they change lanes to pass you. I have a manufacturer backup camera, but this one is much better as it’s a better picture, better color and can be used backing up or moving forward. I plan on getting a second one to front mount to assist in parking in lots where you can see how close you are to objects directly in front of you, especially small cars. Great product, Good price.

LeeKooLuu did a great job in putting together the LK3 kit. Everything I would need came in the kit (and a few extras for options). So far, I really like this system. It was very price competitive for the performance specifications. It has all the features I was looking for in a backup camera kit.
The instruction pamphlet is reasonable; but there are a number of YouTube videos done by LeeKooLuu that gave me more knowledge and the confidence to proceed. The pamphlet shows a few ways to wire the system. It can be always on, on with the ignition, or (my preferred way) when reverse is engaged.
The camera appears to be well waterproof. That’s one of the “must have” components in my search for a system. I’ve seen some cameras that have shielding; but this device meets the IP69 standard. IP69K enclosures protect electronics from high pressure jet wash and steam cleaning. That’s important when you wash your vehicle.
You can control the system on/off by switching power or by a button on the monitor. It depends on where you tap into the vehicle power supply. I elected to have it work as a reverse gear-initiated backup camera. I was putting the LK3 on my pickup truck so I could get a better feel of where the rear end is located relative to the surroundings. It’s a working vehicle, not my primary mode of transportation.
I mounted the camera over the rear license plate and tested the system before full installation. The 4.3” 1080p LCD monitor worked beautifully producing a bright, clear picture. If you want to change the picture, the monitor has controls for contrast, brightness, and tint. See the world the way you want. I played with the adjustable Parking Grid Line system on the monitor to adjust the lines while I was at the back of the vehicle. That gave me an indication of how they would function when in use.
Now began hard part: how to route the wiring from the tailgate up to the cab. This was definitely the most difficult part of installation. I followed existing wires and harnesses along the frame to the cab. I didn’t have to drill a hole to route the wires internally. I found a pass-through plug that I sent the wires through. Once in the cab, it was a simple matter of removing interior trim to route the wires.
Thanks to LeeKooLuu for providing sufficient wire to complete the routing comfortably. I still have enough wire on the monitor end to place it where I want and enough on the camera/power end to change power supply, should I want. I used zip ties, electrical tape, and rubber grommets (not in the kit, but I’m compulsive). The tape was for wire covering anywhere I though the wires would rub metal and the grommets for pass-throughs on the frame.
The most challenging part had nothing to do with the LK3 kit. It was finding the Hot and Neutral wires on my reverse light. Mine has a non-standard wiring (i.e., the wires were not the colors they should be.) Having my wife at the wheel and a multimeter in my hand at the tail/reverse light solved the problem quickly. I used a military wiring tap instead of the supplied T-taps and sealed the tail light unit back up. Everything worked just as promised. The 4.3” monitor turns on when I put the truck in reverse. All that is left is for me to decide where to mount the monitor. LeeKooLuu provides multiple options for mounting as well, dash or window mount.
Great work LeeKooLuu.

I’m loving this upgrade to my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT!! My car’s still going strong(ish) but being a small car in a sea of SUVS, I’ve really been needing a backup camera. When I priced a pro install at $400, I decided to try this LeeKooLuu unit instead. My handy son installed it in about 90 minutes; it’s tied into the reverse gear and he tucked the wires under the wheel and into the interior molding (he did not remove seats, etc.). The camera comes on within about a second of putting the car into reverse. I’m very very happy with this terrific and great priced device!

Bought this for our Polaris RZR to see behind it. Took it out on the trails and it held up well. The picture quality is good enough to clearly see if you’re backing into a stump or other obstacle and keep an eye on anyone behind you on the trails when riding in a group. Well worth the price and the peace of mind being able to see safely behind you. If it holds up on a RZR it will definitely work on other vehicles. Camera is waterproof enough after washing it still works fine. Don’t get the monitor wet, (It’s easy to remove before washing) but the rest of it had no problems withstanding a pressure washer and continuing to work well.

I got this and did initial test, which works well. The video is clear. The shipping speed is fast. For now, I did not test completely, but the customer service is good to me. The installation is simple. I am expecting the camera can work well after a longer time of test.
